| MARIANNA PALKA wrote, directed, and starred in the film GOOD DICK, which was in the Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. Palka was the youngest director at the festival that year. GOOD DICK had its UK premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival, where Palka was honored with the New Director's Award. Film credits include a supporting role in Peter Mullan's film NEDS, which won the Golden Shell award for Best Film at the San Sebastian Film Festival in 2010. In addition, Palka was a Sloan Juror with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Palka studied acting at David Mamet and William H. Macy's Atlantic Theater Company in New York City. She is currently working on her second feature GLASGOW KISS, starring Jason Ritter and herself. |
